Story
Hi. My name is Pete. I'm a 4-year-old, orange and white Brittany who was born with cataracts in both eyes: then I went blind.    When I was blind, I engaged in compulsive repetitive  behaviors, such as spinning, barking, and pica (eating non-food items). I had successful eye surgery and now I can see again.  As a result of me regaining my vision, I acquired a new compulsive behavior; eyeing light and shadows. Fortunately, with the help of my medication, my compulsive behaviors, with the exception of pica,  have improved a greatly.    My favorite toy is a black Kong. My foster mom thought it would be good for me because I can't bite through it. I love to fetch and retrieve and could do it all day long. B eing able to see is such a blessing.  If I have trouble finding my Kong, I'm good at a game called Hot and Cold. I respond well to the command  "leave it!" when I find something I want to put in my mouth. I listen well to the command "drop!" when I put an object in my mouth. I weigh 35 lb and I like to stay active. Maybe my foster mom could teach me how to wiggle my tush to  "Nothing But a Hound Dog."   I am not picky about what I eat and will try to swallow anything I put in my mouth. Because I like to swallow everything, I should not be left unsupervised.  When I get anxious, a soothing white noise helps me to stay calm.    I do not get along with other dogs and probably not cats. I have never been around children. I am not sure if I would get along with them or not.    I am a great  leash walker and have perfect recall. I'm up to date on all my vaccines and, other than requiring my eye drops once a day, I am in good health.    I love to ride in the car and watch the world go by as I look out the window.  I am eager to please and will do anything my foster mom ask of me.   I am a happy dog and when I'm tired I love to sit and cuddle in my foster mom's lap.    I'm very thankful for all the care I have received. It has been done with devotion by the people at nbran. I hope that soon I will be in a permanent home with a loving family.     I will need to take my eye drops for the rest of my life, When my foster mother tells me "Chin,"  I rest my head in her hand so she can put the drops in my eyes. My adoption Fee is $400 to help offset my medical expenses and to allow NBRAN to rescue other Brittanys.    NBRAN will provide transportation, up to 1400 miles, to my new approved home.  For more information about me contact Debbie Tuthill agilitybrits@gmail.com or Suzanne Horsley ztasuzanne@gmail.comApril 9, 2025, 2:23 pm

Story
Meet Charley – A Burst of Joy Waiting for a Home! Bonjour! I’m Charley, a 3½-year-old, 34 lb black and white French Brittany with a heart full of love and a nub that never stops wagging! I’ve been waiting patiently in boarding, dreaming of soft beds, belly rubs, and the simple joy of finally belonging to someone. I’m a healthy, happy boy—neutered, up-to-date on all my vaccines, heartworm and tick negative, and on prevention. But what I don’t have yet is a foster home… and that’s where you come in. Would you be interested in being my foster family to begin my journey to find my forever home? Let’s get this out of the way – yes, I’ve been called a “bull in a China shop,” but I promise I’m not trying to wreck the place! I just have tons of energy, love being with people, and sometimes I get so excited about snacks and cuddles that I forget my manners (but hey, I’m learning!). &#226&#156&#168 Why you’ll love me: I’m full of Brittany energy and joy I love snacks, attention, and being around people I’m a total cuddle bug (once I burn off some zoomies!) I just need someone to help me with a few manners (I get a little too excited about treats!) A kind photographer said, “Charley is beautiful and SO happy to be with people. He just needs a little help learning to take treats gently and would thrive in a home where he’s loved and guided.” I do need: A 6-foot physical fence to keep my speedy paws safe A calm, patient foster who sees my potential A home without small children while I work on my excitement Lots of love, consistency, and belly rubs &#239&#184&#143 NBRAN covers all my vetting—you just provide the love, structure, and soft place to land. Fostering truly saves lives… and mine is waiting to begin with you. If your heart is saying “Oui, Oui Charley!” I’m in Tulsa, OK, but transport can be arranged up to 1,400 miles (you just cover the last 100). Are you the one who will help me go from boarding to belonging? Fill out a foster application at www.nbran.org and let’s start this beautiful journey together.April 10, 2025, 11:29 am

Story
Meet Axel, a 7 1/2 year old purebred orange & white male brittany.  Axel loves other dogs & kids, but definitely no cats. He has a high prey drive and needs a steady job.  He would love the opportunity to hunt.  He is not gun shy and has excellent recall.   He must have a home with a lot of land. A working farm would be perfect for him.  He needs a lot of daily exercise and to be kept busy.  Axel is an escape artist and requires a privacy fence of at least 6' high.  He is an expert at escaping and considers it a great game.  Since he does have great recall, he comes back once called. However, he must be supervised when he's outside. This is why a lot of land, and away from roads, is important.  Axel is well socialized and will do anything you ask of him. He is very sweet, but driven and needs an outlet for his energy. He loves to be outside and is very goofy.  Like most bird dogs, he is not great on a leash, but does excellent on a long lead.  He is crate trained and should be crated when left alone.  He tends to get into mischief, especially if not highly exercised. Axel is neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in northwestern GA and is available for transport up to 1400 miles, with the adopter driving the last 100 miles to pick him up.  His adoption fee is $350.  If you are interested in adopting Axel, please submit an adoption application at www.nbran.org and mention his name. Also, feel free to reach out to jessica@thesouthernway.com with any questions.May 8, 2025, 8:42 pm
