Story
Digger is a petite, 4 yr old female pit mix that came to us from TX. We think she could have some Jack Russell in her too! Originally found roaming in southern Texas , this girl lived in an outside kennel for several months in southern TX.  She is so happy to now be in a foster home. She is housebroken and happy to hang out on a dog bed while her foster parents work.  She loves squeaky toys and napping. She needs to be the only pet in the home. Digger is being fostered in Southern CT. ##795053##

Story
ATTENTION SPECIAL NEEDS DOG LOVERS! ❤️ 🐾❤️🐾 BRUIN 🐾❤️🐾 AKA “Bru-ski,” “Stitch,” “Bru-Bru” Bruin came into our rescue when he was listed as “free” on Craigslist. We knew we had to make sure he did not fall into the wrong hands! Bruin has been blind since birth. One eye needed to be removed due to extreme glaucoma. He’s making a full recovery from his surgery, and thriving in his foster home! 🐾 Age 2. 🐾 Weight 40 lbs. 🐾 Bruin seems very eager to play with his foster dog siblings, (small dogs), but due to his size as well as his post-surgery recovery, he is limited with his ability to play and has not been fully introduced yet. We believe that Bruin will most likely get along with other dogs with proper introductions. 🐾 Older children only due to the fact that he is vision impaired. 🐾 Cat friendly! 🐾 Housetrained. 🐾 Crate-trained 🐾 Bruin needs to be on medication (eye drops three times a day) for the remaining eye for the rest of his life. A low cost routine Med. 🐾 Bruin loves to run off leash in his fenced in yard. He has learned to navigate the yard in an amazing way, with no halo needed. (See video). He doesn’t run, he prances! ❤️ 🐾 Knows some basic commands. 🐾 Neutered, Microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. Bruin is being fostered in Milford, CT. This is what Bruin’s foster mom has to say about him: Bruin is much like a sighted dog in many ways. He wants to play, enjoys his toys, loves his couch time, loves his family, his cheese chews, and loves being outside. When dealing with Bruin, one must put themselves in his shoes, imagining what life is like for him not being able to see. Bruin’s new owner will have to rely on verbal commands and other means to communicate with him. Bruin is very fearful of unfamiliar sounds, people, and environments. He will sometimes react out of fear, and therefore needs a very patient and understanding owner who is willing to work with him to help him overcome these fears. Once he is confident in his space, he’s just another dog. He will curl up on the couch with you and he likes to know that someone is nearby. He’s most content with a hand on him as he rests. He relaxes immediately with a belly rub and actually falls asleep that way. Bruins ideal home will be someone who has a great deal of patience and understanding for the needs of a blind dog. Someone who will be home with him a lot would be ideal. A large, securely fenced in yard is preferable for him to enjoy the freedom of running. We would love to find Bruin a home with another companion dog.

Story
Look at this S M I L E - this is Princess 👑 It’s heartbreaking 💔 to know that she’s losing her home and her dad. It’s not your typical story though… Her dad loves her so much but fighting a battle involving his health. We all agree what’s best at this point is to move Princess 👑 into a foster or adoptive home by this weekend. Princess is a young female pitbull mix who’s great with all commands and housebroken. She loves to lay around but she also loves to run and play catch and do all kinds of activities. She’s spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped. If you can FOSTER, please submit a foster application on our website and we will supply you with everything you need. Crate, food, supplies etc. We will also get her training should it be needed. Two week decompression protocol is a must, please be sure to read it thoroughly when you submit the application (the link is on our website). Ideally, Princess will be fostered (or adopted) by someone who has some large breed dog experience, is in agreement with the necessity of crating (or willing to be taught why it’s an absolute necessity) and DOES NOT CURRENTLY HAVE OTHER PETS LIVING IN THE HOME. Princess *may* be fine with other dogs but has lived as the *only pet* for a long time. Therefor we would like to find someone who can foster this sweet girl without other pets. Princess has not been around kids so we would prefer a home without young kids until we have a better understanding of her needs. She likes to “talk” to the squirrels 🐿 so we are erring on the side of caution: No Cats 🐈 If you work 8 or 10 hours a day NO PROBLEM, you don’t need to be a work from home person to provide a happy and safe place for Miss Princess. All she needs is someone who’s open to following our protocols (because they make for the best results) and can give her love and structure. We’ll provide you with the rest. Vacationing soon? NO PROBLEM, we’ll take care of Princess while you’re away so please don’t let planned trips stand in the way of fostering. BARC-CT.org/foster BARC-CT.org/adoption Please help us help this sweet pup. She deserves a soft landing since she also losing her person 💔

Story
My personality: Nervous and shy but improving. My story: Life was tough for me on the streets. I was unwelcome in the area I was living, and I had at least one litter of puppies there which made matters even worse. Then, one day, I was hit by a car! It was at this point that someone reported me to Soi Dog and they sent their rescue officers to collect me. I was bleeding internally and had multiple fractures to my pelvis and legs. I am alive today thanks to the emergency surgery I received, and I'm able to get around just fine thanks to the physiotherapy I underwent afterwards. After such an ordeal, don't you think I deserve a loving home? My needs: The humans here at Soi Dog think that I have some Thai Bangkeaw in my lineage. This breed is known to be brave and feisty, whereas I'm at the other end of the spectrum and am nervous and shy! However, with the support of the behavior team, I've definitely shown improvement and am gradually coming out of my shell. I enjoy going for walks – trotting as fast as my little legs will carry me – and know I can adjust to life as a precious pet with your help. DISCLAIMER: I am located at Soi Dog in Phuket, Thailand. Soi Dog charges no adoption fee for me and I have been neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Adopters simply need to cover the cost of my travel crate, flight(s), and Rabies Titer Test (RTT). If you are interested in adopting me, then please inquire for further details. I woof really love it!
