The holidays have come and gone and sweet miss Holly Berry’s wish to find a forever home hasn’t come true yet. And we really are uncertain as to why. She’s a wonderful pup who craves being close to humans and she is super eager to please. She adores being pet and will happily drop into your lap for belly rubs and snuggles. She loves to play fetch and is guaranteed to make you laugh with her silly antics. She’s always ready for an adventure and would make the perfect walking or hiking companion. As an added bonus, she’s a social butterfly and loves every person that she meets, so she’s sure to make some new friends on your journeys together! Holly does need a home with a high, non-chainlink fence as she can climb. She would also do best as an only dog. She does get along with other dogs that she meets, but would prefer to be the apple of your eye as an only dog in your household. Her background story is one of survival. She was moments away from being put down in a shelter in Texas. Saved just in time, she moved from a cramped shelter to a spacious outdoor pen—one that was meant to be temporary. But that temporary space has stretched on, and Holly is still waiting for the one thing she craves most: a real home. Holly is estimated to be about 2 years old and weighs 54 pounds. She is fully vaccinated and spayed. She is currently if Texas but will be transported to NJ once adopted. Personality: loves people, eager to please, affectionate, loves to play, social butterfly, is a climber so needs high fence Good with: people of all ages (including kids). Gets along with other dogs but will do best as only dog in household. Has not been cat tested yet. Good golly Miss Molly! This young lady was Simon's (already adopted) mom. But her mothering days are over, and she's looking for someone to take care of her this time. Actually, she will still do her part to take care of you too - by providing lots of love and cuddles. Molly is estimated to be 3 years young, and weighs 47 pounds. She has been spayed, is heartworm negative, and is up to date on her vaccinations. She is described by her TX foster as being an "absolute sweetheart" of a pup. Story

Who isn't up for some puppy sweetness? Cash is a small male puppy who was found as a stray and dropped off at a Texas kill shelter. We saved him (and his brother, Moose) when they were just about 7 weeks old. Right after we pulled him out of the shelter, Cash got sick and spent 6 days in the hospital fighting parvo which can be deadly. At the time he was just a tiny boy, weighing only 4 pounds, so things were especially critical - but he fought hard and pulled through. Now he's a typical happy go lucky puppy. He loves people and especially likes to be carried around and loved up on. He also LOVES snacks - who would have guessed for such a little guy??? He's still just a puppy so he's a tad bit vocal and energetic these days. He enjoys playing with other dogs and is curious about cats....but runs away from them - lol. We don't know what breed he is, though our best guess is possibly a Catahoula mix. Cash is crate trained and is using pee pads. He is vaccinated, will be microchipped, and, if adopted, will be ready to arrive in the NJ area on our next monthly transport. Popis is from an 'oops liter.' Her owner had tried keeping all of them, but has since realized that having that many dogs in one household has gotten to be a bit too much. So Popis is looking for a new home. She was born on 5/12/25. Her mom is a mixed breed dog who weighs 39# and they aren't sure who the dad was. Popis and her siblings all weigh around 40 pounds. They are described as being a super loving group and they are very friendly with humans - and are good with kids. They are very playful and especially love playing with balls. Popis is delicate in nature. She is very loving and playful with everyone. She also has a cute, funny howl. Popis is vaccinated and spayed. Story

Here's a very common story for dogs in the south. Once upon a time a beautiful and very pregnant dog was found wandering along the side of the road. What's not so common is that instead of leaving her out there on her own, the finder took her in (she was a lucky dog!) and she gave birth to 8 healthy puppies. This story has an even happier ending because the finder is keeping the mom, who they have named Shadow, and she will be spayed. Shadow's puppies are now old enough that they are ready to find homes of their own. Shadow is a lab mix and can be seen in some of the pictures we've posted. Tex, featured here, is one of her male puppies. The puppies were born on 2/5/26 and based on appearance may be lab (mom) and german shepherd mix. According to his foster mom, Tex loves to have a good time and he's energetic. Tex is receiving his puppy vaccinations, and will be microchipped with a lifetime registration. Tex is currently in TX, but once adopted, will join our monthly transport to the NJ area.
