Story
Meet Chunk! Adorable 15 month-old Great Pyrenees/Mountain Cur mix seeking a loving forever home. At 69 pounds Chunk is a lotta love and a big bundle of joy.  This friendly fur ball is a huge favorite with kids who all adore him. Chunk's previous owner in Mississippi faced hardships, lost her home, and chose to euthanize him. Chunk was rescued by Peace4Paws when we teamed up with a foster there to save him. Now, Chunk is ready to bring his super sweet personality to a new family. If you have a piano, Chunk will entertain you and sing along when you play.  How many owners can say their dogs does that!   Chunk was placed once, but we learned that while he likes playing with other dogs, he does prefer to be your one and only pooch in the home. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a lovable companion, Chunk is the perfect addition to your family. Give this charming pup the second chance he deserves, and let the tail-wagging adventures begin! Chunk is house trained, neutered and to date with vaccines. Story
Meet Mama Bear. She is here to steal your heart! A very smart, super friendly, and obedient girl who loves making new friends, whether they are human, canine or feline. She loves to play, and is good with other dogs, so if you already have a furry friend, Mama Bear will fit right in! Mama Bear is about 4 years young and 58 pounds. Past the puppy stage, she is fully trained, extra sweet and ready to be your easy loyal companion. If you are looking for a well mannered pup, look no further. Mama Bear is the girl for you! Mama Bear was found as a stray in Mississippi. At first, her rescuer could not get her to move from the spot where she was. Eventually she was able to get her in the car and to a foster home where she has been the perfect house guest. We posted to try to find her family without any luck. Now Mama Bear will arrive in NJ on May 18. She has never been in a boarding facility so we really hope to see her go right to her new family or a foster home. She is spayed, fully vetted and up to date on her shots. Story
Meet Jean, the delightful 5-year-old Redbone Coonhound mix who's about 50 pounds of pure sweetness! Jean is more than just a pup; she's a bundle of joy waiting to bring endless love and warmth to any family lucky enough to welcome her into their home. The Redbone Coonhound is a remarkable breed known for its striking red coat, intelligence, and boundless athleticism. Redbones are also known for their affection and devotion to their families, often forming strong bonds with their human counterparts. With their beautiful appearance, spirited personality, and unwavering loyalty, it's no wonder they're cherished by dog lovers around the world. Sweet Jean is already spayed and up to date on all her vaccines, so you can rest assured that she's ready to dive right into a lifetime of adventures with you. Jean's social skills are also top-notch; she gets along well with other dogs and is likely to charm her way into the hearts of cats and kids in the household. With her gentle nature and friendly disposition, Jean would be a perfect family dog. Despite facing the heartbreaking prospect of euthanasia due to overcrowding in a Kentucky shelter, Jean's luck turned around when Peace4Paws stepped in just in time to rescue her. Now, she's eagerly counting down the days until May 19th when she'll arrive in NJ to hopefully meet her fur-ever. Jean is the perfect fit for any family seeking a furry friend to share life's precious moments with. Story
Hi! My name is Ace and this is my story. . . I was found alone, wandering the streets of NY. I was hungry, a little scared, and had an embedded collar around my neck. A good samaritan picked me up and took me to the NY shelter. I was friendly with the staff and showed no reactivity to other dogs. Due to no fault of my own (well, maybe a little bit because I was excitable and got a little mouthy when I played),  so I was adopted and returned. To my surprise, I was saved once again! A Rescue stepped up and found me a temporary home. I am very happy here. My foster mom says I exemplify resilience and a zest for life! With marks still visible in my skin, I enjoy life to its fullest! I love to eat, play, and cuddle with my foster mom.  Now that I feel secure, my foster mom tells me I am a super chill and VERY well trained.  I worked hard on learning my basic manners and now my foster mom doesn't have to say "No Ace" a lot.   She mostly says "Good boy Ace" now.  I have been enthusiastically practicing with my foster mom and her trainer and I have proven to be an excellent student. I still get a little excited when I meet new dogs, but quickly settle down, I just want to play. I am estimated to be about 3 1/2 years old. I am healthy, happy, and full of energy! I am also housebroken and crate-trained.   I have come so far and am looking for a home where I can be loved and continue to grow and learn.  I would do well with another doggie sister or brother and I like cats too.  But I would be happy as your only dog as well! I am flexible!  If you are that person, please apply to adopt me at www.peace4paws.org.  Please fill out the application on a laptop or computerIf you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Meet Sissy, the most delightful Staffy mix with a heart as big as her smile. Weighing in at 42 pounds and 4 years young, Sissy is the definition of canine charm. With her warm personality, fun-loving spirit, and friendly nature, she's sure to steal your heart from the moment you meet her. We know her very well here at the rescue group and are cheering her on, in the search of finding her forever. Sissy's journey hasn't been without its challenges, but her resilience and unwavering spirit continue to shine through. Once a cherished member of a loving family, Sissy was given away when they fell on hard times, leading to mistreatment by her new owner. Thankfully fate intervened, and a very pregnant Sissy found herself in the loving arms of the Knox Whitley Shelter in Corbin, KY. There, she received the care and compassion she desperately needed, and welcomed a litter of precious puppies into the world.  From there, Sissy's journey led her to the kind embrace of a foster family in NJ, where she's now thriving more than ever. Her gentle nature and playful demeanor make her a favorite among adults, kids and canines alike - however a home without cats is ideal. Sissy is housebroken, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and an all around well-behaved little lady. She is so much more than a rescue dog—she's a testament to a beacon of hope and the power of love. With her spirit overflowing with joy, Sissy is ready to find her forever family; one that will cherish her unconditionally and provide her with the care she deserves. If you're interested in opening your heart to this amazing pup, apply today at www.peace4paws.org on your computer or laptop (not available on smartphones). Together, let's give Sissy the second chance at happiness that she eagerly awaits. If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG!
