Story
SOS!! Cinnamon Sugar SOS - - she was only given 1 month of foster. Meet Cinnamon Sugar, a 2–3-year-old, 50-lb sweetheart who has spent far too long simply trying to survive after someone seemingly left her behind. Everything about Cinnamon tells us she was once someone’s dog. She is incredibly well-behaved, potty trained in the yard, wonderful on a leash, perfect in the car, and knows exactly how to live alongside people. At some point, the family she trusted disappeared, leaving this incredibly sweet girl to fend for herself. Cinnamon stayed around the same neighborhood, seemingly believing it was still her home. But life there became increasingly dangerous. Feral street pack dogs bullied and chased her, neighbors no longer wanted her around, and recently a loose dog even attacked her. Somehow, through all of it, Cinnamon remained gentle, trusting, and desperate for affection. Thankfully, one kind neighbor has offered Cinnamon a safe foster home — but only for one month. We now have a small window to find this deserving girl the forever family she has been waiting for. Cinnamon is spayed, vaccinated, 4DX negative, fully vetted, and up to date on preventatives. She loves other dogs, has lived peacefully around cats, and is truly the kind of easy, loving companion who just wants to belong. Cinnamon is currently in Puerto Rico, but she can be adopted anywhere in the U.S. Like all of our Puerto Rico rescues, we will arrange her flight off the island to her adoptive family, and her transport is included in her adoption fee. Someone may have abandoned Cinnamon once, but she never stopped believing in people. Now she has one month of safety while we find the person who will finally show her that this time, she is home forever.

Story
Canela — The Lover Girl's Story: Meet Canela, a 4-year-old, 16-lb little love bug who wants nothing more than to finally be someone’s baby. The first years of Canela’s life were nothing like what a dog deserves. She came from a heartbreaking hoarding situation, where she lived without the individual attention, security, or love that should have been hers from the beginning. Despite everything she went through, Canela is pure sweetness. She is wonderful with other dogs, great with people, and absolutely loves affection. She just wants to be close, soak up love, and finally have a person of her own. She has the gentlest little soul and so much love to give — she just needs someone to give it back. Canela is fully vetted, spayed and house trained. She is currently in Puerto Rico and will be transported to the States as soon as her foster or forever family is found. Her transport is included in her adoption fee. Canela has spent four years waiting for the life she should have had all along. Now she deserves soft beds, endless cuddles, and a family who will make sure she never has to wonder if she is loved again.

Story
*Courtesy Post for an Independent Rescuer - Whoopi's Official Contract and Adoption Will Be Through Independent Rescuer* Apply for Whoopi Here: https://forms.gle/ujSkHEctK5Fn8hB49 Whoopi is the kind of dog who makes herself unforgettable. This beautiful girl was found abandoned in the middle of the road, left to fend for herself. She was also diagnosed with heartworm, but thanks to rescue and dedicated care, she's well on her way to a full recovery and finally getting the life she's always deserved. At heart, Whoopi is a total lovebug. She absolutely melts for belly rubs, face scratches, and being as close to her people as possible. She's incredibly soft, loves to cuddle (especially in bed!), and while she gets the occasional burst of playful energy, she's mostly a calm, easygoing girl who is happiest curled up for a nap by your side. Her adorable smile and irresistibly squishy cheeks make it impossible not to fall in love. Whoopi is also one smart cookie. She's already potty trained, knows "sit," quickly learns routines, and proudly heads straight to her treat spot after walks. She's respectful in the home, only chews on her toys and bones, and enjoys tagging along for car rides. In just a few days with her foster, she's shown herself to be deeply loyal and devoted - the kind of companion who forms an incredible bond with her family. Whoopi definitely has the best Queen energy!! She would do best in a home without cats, and we're still learning how she feels about other dogs. She had one altercation with a dog known to be dog-aggressive, so it's unclear who initiated it. Because of that, we'll continue slowly introducing her to other dogs and working on her social skills. She has also started leash training with a prong collar and has already made tremendous progress after just one day. A home with a fenced yard would be ideal while she continues building her confidence. Whoopi has overcome so much, yet she still chooses to trust, love, and cuddle with her whole heart. Now all she needs is a family willing to give this sweet, loyal girl the forever home she's been waiting for. In return, she'll reward you with endless snuggles, unwavering devotion, and that unforgettable smile every single day. *Whoopi is currently in Puerto Rico and will be moved to the mainland for a foster or forever home - whichever presents itself first*

Story
Oreo is a cuddly loving terrier-mix from Queens, NY. Originally, I got Oreo during a vacation in Ecuador. A man on the beach was selling a litter of pups, and I fell in love with him right away. I got him cleared to come back to NY and the rest was history. We are unaware of Oreo’s true birthday, but his 13th “Gotcha Day” will be August 23rd. He is one of my best friends and it saddens me that we will have to part ways.. I’m expecting a baby girl and I’m due in September. Due to the demands and attention that a senior dog needs, I just want him to be in the most attentive home possible. If you have any questions about Oreo, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Story
Say hello to Dylan, a beautiful 2-3 year old Shepherd mix who has a small frame for a Shepherd and is fully grown at just 50 pounds. He's a great dog and his medium weight makes him ideal for adopters who love the Shepherd breed but want a medium sized pooch. He's living with his Foster family in Farmingdale, Long Island and they will tell you that Dylan is the best boy! He's beautifully trained, walks great on a leash and knows his commands. He's a smart guy too who loves to play with all sizes of pups ....he's living with 3 other dogs in his Foster home- one who is 75 pounds and one who is 15 pounds and he loves them all. He's also living with a cat and pays no attention to him! He loves to play with puzzles and find the treats so he can show you how smart he is! He enjoys playing in the backyard with his friends but also loves taking snoozes in the backyard. He's very sweet and has a lovely mellow energy level too. He's totally housebroken and crate trained. All he needs is a loving adopter to cherish him forever! Reach out to Long Road Home (lrhrescue@gmail.com or call 516-459-3509) for more info.

Story
Keiko is a very sweet and beautiful boy who we think is a Aussie and Border Collie mix. He's just about 1 year old and fully grown at 38 pounds which makes him the perfect medium sized pup. His shiny black coat is beautiful and wavy and he has the cutest white socks and tail. Keiko has a very sweet and gentle personality and can be a little shy when he first meets people but warms up quickly. He loves playing with other dogs and getting belly rubs and kisses from his Foster family. He's a cuddle bug too and loves to curl up on the couch and watch TV with his peeps. He gets along great with everyone he meets ...just needs a slow and gentle intro so he can smell you and maybe get a treat. We also tested him with cats and he did great! Once he knows you...he will be your best friend. He has a low-medium energy level so settles nicely after playing and loves quiet time relaxing on the couch or in his doggie bed. He enjoys playing in the backyard in the neighborhood and rides in the car too. We think he'll thrive with a doggie sibling to play with and show him the ropes. He doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body but he's a more mellow and quiet guy. We think he'd love a doggie sibling and a fully fenced yard too. Keiko is healthy, up to date on all his vaccinations, house-trained and crate-trained so he's so ready to find his forever family. He's living with a lovely Foster family on Long Island so reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com or 917-538-1540) to get lots more info pics and videos of this sweet boy and make plans to go meet him!
