Story
We don't know how long poor Paloma (and 50 other dogs in that horror house) spent their life in those deplorable conditions,
Paloma was rescued from a crate that was barely big enough for her tall frame, and the rescuer could hardly see her with all the junk that covered her.
She was terrified of the very people who came to save her. Who can blame her?
But after about a week of realizing she was finally safe and would be treated with nothing but love and kindness, Paloma began to come out of her shell and show everyone what a truly sweet soul she is.
Today / Monday, she had her first trip to Home Dipo. The foster said, "She is literally the sweetest, most easygoing dog I have ever fostered." I am seriously obsessed with her. Like, she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. Very non-reactive; when something scary happens or another dog cues her, she backs away and gives space.
She is a very polite pup and her way of asking for pets is sitting and staring at you. lol
She doesn’t have a mean or reactive bone in her body and is learning to love the simple things in life, like head scratches and cozy couch time, while still finding comfort and security in an open crate.
Paloma walks beautifully on a leash and absolutely loves her wet food, which is perfect for this
sweet girl since she doesn’t have many teeth left. She is estimated to be around 8 years old and currently weighs 47 lbs. She will be fully vaccinated and microchipped.
Now, after about a week at her foster home, I am fostering Paloma. She is literally the best dog. She is very much a senior gal and just enjoys lying on her bed, hanging out, going for short walks, and rolling in the grass.
She is just so easygoing; she will be your shadow. She now seeks attention and pets by sitting directly in front of you and staring at you. She is cat-friendly. Potty trained. Walks gracefully on leash".
Paloma would love to find a home where she can spend her life in a calm, loving environment she didn't have for most of her life. She will need time to decompress, to learn that she is safe and loved. Patience, love, and more love.
Paloma is being cared for in Texas, and if adopted, she can come on our transport to NJ, arriving on October 3rd in Parsippany, NJ, where all adopters meet their new babies and take them home.
