Story
UPDATE!! Meet Petrie! Came round us with his brother Rooter after sitting in a rural shelter for over 6 months. These boys arrived at the shelter terrified and the shelter staff has worked hard to pull these boys out of their shell. Petrie is some sort of terrier mix. He’s 3 years old and 22 lbs. He is still a bit shyer than his brother. You can usually find him hanging back a bit at first to observe what’s happening before he decides to engage. He’s a super sweet little pup who is the exact opposite of his brother when it comes to snuggling. He is absolutely content to spend his time being held like a baby and talked to. He’s not quite as curious or nosy as Rooter, but he definitely has his moments! He also enjoys treats, but doesn’t show much interest in toys outside of the initial introduction to it. This boy has settled right into foster care and his loving being indoors and having soft beds to sleep on and a big yard to play. Petrie is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered. Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you! ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK IN BIO!  https://form.jotform.us/70898112177159Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 9, 2024, 1:14 am

Story
Dazee is an 8 lb sweetheart, maybe a little Chihuahua, but a lot miniature Fox Terrier. She's a great lap dog, but she's under a year old, and wants to play with abandon at times! If she found a home with a play buddy, that would be fabulous, and walks and play are necessary. She's probably not a good fit for a less active person, because she is a busy little girl that needs a good bit of interaction. She's not really comfortable around larger dogs at first, but if they give her space, she may warm up to them. Dazee is very fearful of crates, and becomes quite anxious when placed in one. In her foster home, she has done well being left loose in the house, with the other dogs. She is quite cat curious, and very much wants to play with them! When the days wind down, and playtime is over, Dazee loves to snuggle on the couch with her person, whom she gets quite attached to. Dazee is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all immunizations. She is currently fostered in Madison AL. If interested in adopting this sweet little girl, please submit a non-binding application at forrescue.net/dog-application.

Story
Hello! We're looking to rehome our 11-month-old Pug, Elton. Unfortunately, one of our parents passed away after acquiring Elton from a breeder, leaving us to take care of this little cutie. Elton is wonderfully sweet and energetic, but we took him in due to tragedy. He needs a home where someone is home most of the time, and wants a little cuddle buddy 100% of the time. Elton is an AKC breed, so this is a rare opportunity to get a purebred pug. We have all his shots paperwork. He doesn't love the crate but he is puppy pad trained. Please make sure you know about pugs before reaching out. He's as sweet as can be but will latch onto one owner, and is stubborn. He loves his walks and brushes, making things very easy! He's yet to be neutered, but we do have a standing appointment for neutering in early June. We'd be happy to keep that appointment for his new owner, assuming the new owner will pay for the cost when the service is done (about $70 + any additional shots you'd like).
