Story
Excellent family dogMeet Sadie – Proof That Age Is Just a Number  Sadie may have a little gray on her muzzle, but don’t let that fool you—this 10-year-young, 60-lb girl still has the heart and energy of a pup half her age! She loves to run, play, and be part of the action, making her a wonderful match for an active family. One of Sadie’s greatest talents? Snuggling. When playtime is over, she’s more than happy to curl up next to you and soak up all the love. She’s also a dream house guest: fully house-trained, crate-trained, and trustworthy enough to be left alone uncrated—no destruction, no drama. Sadie adores kids and adults and gets along well with other dogs (though she’d do best without tiny dogs—she’s a little too enthusiastic and might accidentally step on them!). Sadie at a Glance: Age: 10 years Weight: 60 lbs Temperament: Fantastic with kids, adults, and most dogs Training: House-trained, crate-trained, knows basic commands Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate companion who’s past the puppy chaos but still full of life, Sadie could be your perfect match! Questions? Email amy@doggieharmony.org *** To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.doggieharmony.org/forms) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.March 7, 2026, 5:36 pm

Story
Mavi is wondering when her family will come!? This 3 year old girl is the best of both shepherd and collie breeds! Brilliant and spirited  with a zest for life, she will make the perfect addition to an active family! Mavi was lucky enough to be a participant in Big Hair Dog Services’ training program where she thrived. This girl greeted every training challenge with the focus and motivation of a true star student. We are so proud of her and she is ready to show her forever family what she has learned!! She is crate-trained, house trained and knows to sit at every barrier (door)  before exiting! She loves zooming around the yard with her dog friends and would do great in a home with a large, male companion…she’s quite the charmer. And at around 50 lbs, this little lady is the perfect size for a road trip buddy!  Mavi is currently still residing with her trainer in MA but is willing to travel most anywhere for her forever home. Even better, her trainer is willing to provide free training by video conference to ensure she maintains her rockstar training status! Contact us for info on your future best friend today; Mavi has been waiting for YOU!! Check out Mavi's videos: https://bit.ly/adoptmavi Age 3 years Weight 50-55 lbs Temperament:  Good with other dogs and would love a large male dog for a companion.   Training:  House trained, crate trained; she thrives on learning new things Location: Sturbridge, MA, but transport is available/provided To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Indy is a 3-year-old, 70 lb sweetheart who was rescued by Good Samaritans after being abandoned. He’s currently in a foster home, but the busy household isn’t the right fit for him—he’s a little too interested in the resident kittens, so he’s looking for a home of his own. He’s friendly, playful, energetic, and very people-oriented. Indy loves being active, going for walks, playing fetch (though he may get a little distracted mid-game), and just being near his humans. He’s also a great car rider and easy to bathe. Indy is highly food-motivated, which makes training a great opportunity for him. His fosters are currently working on leash skills and basic manners—he’s eager to learn and responds well. Indy would do best with an active adopter or family who can give him structure, and affection. He has done well with older children and may do well with other dogs his size with proper introductions. He has a big heart and is ready to share it with a forever family. Questions: kimberly.vanlaningham@gmail.com Age: Approx 3 years Weight:  70 lbs (underweight but working on putting some lbs on) Temperament: Gets along with people/older kinds and other dogs his size with proper introduction. Training: Housetrained, crate-trained, working on basics Vetting: Neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm  treatment is paid/in process To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
Please contact Marta (ultramarta@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Hazel – 2 years old | ~50 lbs Hazel is a resilient, gentle girl who has blossomed after a very difficult start in life. Now safe and thriving, she’s ready for a forever home where she can continue to grow at her own pace and feel deeply secure with her people. Quick facts: 2 years old, ~50 lbs Spayed, microchipped Housebroken & crate trained Up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative Good with dogs (can live with a compatible dog or as an only dog) Good with kids Not good with cats Hazel is medium-energy and enjoys daily walks, backyard play, and then settling in close to her humans. She’s leash-trained, food-motivated, and knows basics like sit, wait, and “get in.” She sleeps quietly through the night in her crate and is generally calm and well-mannered at home. She can be shy with new people and needs a little time to warm up, but once she trusts you, she’s affectionate, loyal, and happiest just being near you—whether you’re working, relaxing, or watching TV. A fenced yard would be a bonus for her zoomies and ball-chasing, but she can also do well with regular walks and routine activity. Hazel thrives most of all with patient, loving people who let her move at her own pace. To learn more, please contact Marta at ultramarta@gmail.com To ensure the best match for pets and adopters, we ask that you complete an Adoption Application at www.doggieharmony.org (click “Forms”). Once approved, we’ll arrange a home visit with the pet. As a donation-funded rescue, an adoption fee is requested to help cover basic veterinary care.April 24, 2026, 7:35 am

Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Adores kids Say hello to Koko! This ~3-year-old American Bully mix is in foster care but urgently needing a new foster or forever home as her current foster is taking a new job and can't keep her past March! She’s friendly, playful, affectionate, and full of love. She loves people, all kinds, adults and children so much she can barely hold back her love and excitement. Her entire body wags with love for people, she truly doesn't know a stranger! She has completed some training lessons and her foster is helping her maintain the commands she has learned. She’s a curious gal and loves to meet new people and engage with them. She loves squeaky toys (durable chewer toys are best), playing fetch, and staying mentally engaged with her Kong and Pupsicle. Koko loves belly rubs and taking naps and cuddling nonstop with you. Going on an adventure? Koko will ask you to please include her too! After being attacked twice by another dog in a former foster situation, Koko has learned to be more cautious. She still likes meeting other dogs but needs slow, thoughtful introductions to feel safe. For those who don’t know Koko’s story: She was found stray in Gwinnett County, adopted out, and later found stray again in Walton County. Animal Control couldn’t reach her owner and discovered he no longer lived at the address listed on her microchip. Koko was saved just in time by Castoff Pet Rescue. Koko has been doing wonderfully in her foster home, but she’s ready to find her forever family and needs urgent placement. She would do best in a home where she will be showered with love and affection. She would probably love being the only. dog so she can be a couch potato and get a ton of love. She does great going out and being social. She has been to numerous adoption events and does great with everyone and doesn't react to other dogs. She LOVES people and kids so much. After being attacked she can react to new dogs but never when she is out in public only at home. Age: 3 years Weight:  45 lbs Temperament: Gets along with kids and adults, dogs with slow intro, might be best as only dog.  Seems okay with cats with slow introduction. Training: Housetrained, crate-trained  Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions:    http://castoffalph@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. She’s great in the house! If the family isn’t home she would need to be crated so the better scenario would be someone who doesn’t work away from the home very long. She doesn’t like to be alone. The last home was an elderly lady who was always there. She’s the sweetest girl you could ask for! Age: 5 years Weight: 48 lbs Temperament: Gets along with other dogs, and  kids, even small kids Training: Housetrained,  crate-trained, knows commands Sit and Stay Vetting: spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions:     loramyers51@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review.
