Story
Meet Roxy, a breathtaking brindle beauty with a heart as big as her smile! At around 3 years old, this confident and charismatic girl has already faced her share of challenges, having been surrendered to a scary North Jersey shelter. But Roxy’s spirit is unbreakable, and her playful, loving nature shines brighter than ever. Roxy is a large and strong pup with a vibrant personality that’s impossible to resist. She’s a natural entertainer—funny, lively, and always ready to make you laugh. Her favorite pastimes include running in the yard, playing fetch, and soaking up every moment of life. While Roxy is dog-tolerant, she truly thrives as the star of the show and would love to be your one-and-only canine companion. Her size and energy make her best suited for a home with older kids who can join in on her adventures. A fenced yard where she can run and play freely would be a dream come true for this active girl. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving, and affectionate best friend, Roxy is ready to fill your life with joy and laughter. She’s excited to meet her forever family and show them just how much love she has to give. If you are interested in Roxy, please go to bfdaaa.com to complete an application. Story
Sweet senior Betty has come such a long way. When she was first rescued by Best Friend Dog & Animal Adoption Inc., she was in heartbreaking condition—covered in infections and in desperate need of care. Thanks to the dedication and love of her rescuers, Betty was nursed back to health, and today she is thriving in her foster home, ready to find the forever family she has always deserved.   Betty is the picture of good manners—she’s housebroken, crate-trained, and sleeps peacefully through the night in her own bed with her favorite blankies. She doesn’t climb on furniture but stays close to her people, offering warmth and companionship. She has also learned to take treats gently and even knows how to give a friendly “high five”!    Betty would prefer to be the queen of her castle as the only pet in the home, soaking up the love and attention she so richly deserves. What matters most to Betty is being with the people she loves, sharing her gentle spirit and loyal heart.   Her sweetness shines through in everything she does. She greets everyone with kindness, rides beautifully in the car, and loves her spa days—relaxing in the bath, enjoying the blow dryer, and melting into her coconut oil massages.   A yard would be greatly appreciated, where Betty can relax and soak up the world around her in peace. She would also love a home where her person or family is around more often than not, since she thrives on companionship.   After such a rough start, Betty’s resilience and sweetness are nothing short of inspiring. She is patiently waiting in Cranford, NJ with Best Friend Dog & Animal Adoption Inc. (bfdaaa.com) for the forever family who will give her the love-filled life she’s been waiting for.   Please apply to adopt Betty at bfdaaa.com If your application is a possible match, a volunteer will get back to you shortly.October 8, 2025, 10:21 am

Story
If your application is a possible match, a volunteer will get back to you within 48 hrs. No inquiries, please, without an application. Meet Lovebug, a stunning 3-year-old American Bulldog mix whose name perfectly reflects her sweet and affectionate nature. Rescued from a local New Jersey shelter, Lovebug is a joyful soul who adores everyone she meets. She has a zest for life that’s as big as her heart, and her playful energy is bound to bring a smile to your face. Lovebug is good on leash and enjoys quiet, short walks where she can take in her surroundings at a gentle pace. She would absolutely love a fenced yard where she can romp and play to her heart’s content. She takes treats gently, is eager to please, and thrives on human connection. A home with older kids is preferred due to her playful nature and her tendency to think she’s a lap dog! Lovebug does have a medical condition that requires special care. Despite two surgeries to address her challenges, she sometimes struggles with breathing and regurgitation when she gets overexcited. She’s currently on a low level of medication that helps keep her calm, and this works successfully about 90% of the time. Because of this, she needs a peaceful home with minimal commotion to help her stay relaxed and comfortable. She would do best as the only pet in the household, where she can soak up all the love and attention. Lovebug is ready to find a dedicated and patient family who will give her the calm, nurturing environment she needs to thrive. One interaction with this amazing girl, and you’ll see why her name is Lovebug. She’s ready to fill your life with endless love and loyalty—are you ready to be her forever family? If you are interested in Lovebug, please go to bfdaaa.com to complete an application. December 30, 2025, 5:45 pm

Looking to add a bundle of joy to your home? Look no further than Carter, the 2 year old, 80-pound pup ready to fill your life with love and laughter! Carter’s been through professional training and has aced all his basic commands. He’s housebroken, crate-trained, and struts like a pro on a leash. No quirks here—he’s cool with toys, treats, and food and tolerates other dogs and even goats! This playful guy loves his toys, a good game of tug-of-war, and backyard adventures. And when it’s time to relax, he’s a certified couch cuddler—ready to snuggle up and keep you warm. Due to his strength, Carter is best in an adult only home and will need continued training as he matures. Check out his video for progress on his training. Story
Meet Maximus!!!! He is quite the combination of Chihuahua and Pomeranian. Two of the most opinionated breeds around. Maximus is about 7 years old and has a personality all his own. He is only for experienced Chihuahua or small breed owners. Maximus is just like many of your typical small breeds. Once he knows you, he loves you. He is extremely cute and food motivated which helps in winning him over. Maximus must go into an adult only home with very minimal access to children. He does not do well with commotion, loud noises or anyone rushing up to him. All the things children like to do. His ideal home is a retired couple or individual that can devote time and energy to his needs. Being a semi-senior he does not require extensive exercise or stimulation. A comfy couch, some walks and a lot of treats and he is a happy boy. Maximus has a clean bill of health and recently had a dental so he is ready for his next chapter. If you think Maximus could be the perfect fit, please go to bfdaaa.com to complete an application. September 14, 2025, 6:22 pm

Story
Harlem is a beautiful 2½-year-old girl who found herself at Animal Control through no fault of her own when her family’s living circumstances changed. This bright, funny, and spirited young dog has so much love and personality to share. Harlem is incredibly smart and eager to please—she learns new things in a flash and thrives when given attention and structure. During her short time in a foster home, she was an absolute gem—crate trained, housebroken, and affectionate with her people. Sadly, being back in a kennel has been very stressful for her, and it’s clear she longs to be back in a loving home where she can relax and shine. Because of her spunky, playful energy, Harlem would probably do best in a home with older children who can match her enthusiasm and enjoy her fun-loving personality. Harlem is fully vetted and ready to start her next chapter. She deserves a family who will see her for the wonderful, loyal companion she is and give her the stability and love she’s been missing. If you are interested in Harlem, please go to bfdaaa.com to complete an application October 16, 2025, 8:46 pm
