Meet Todd! Todd, AKA Archie is the definition of a playful puppy—full of energy, curiosity, and love. He adores running around outside, playing fetch, and chasing after balls or rope toys. Here’s a cute video of Archie playing outside. When playtime winds down, he’s just as happy to curl up with you for some snuggles. Archie is working on his potty training and doing well with his kennel, though he’d prefer to be out where the action is. He’s great with other dogs and would thrive with a canine playmate, but he could also be happy as a single dog with an active family to keep him entertained. This handsome boy is a social butterfly who loves meeting new people. With his striking brown and blue eyes and irresistible puppy charm, Archie is sure to steal your heart. Archie is from a local impound. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.*

Story
Meet Lydia! 🐾 Lydia is a German Shepherd mix who has been with her foster mom since she was just six weeks old, growing up alongside three human siblings who adore her. She’s still a puppy in every sense of the word — full of energy, personality, and enough charm to make you forget she just chewed something she wasn’t supposed to. The Love Bug: Lydia is a certified cuddle enthusiast who will flash her tummy at anyone within scratching distance, because she knows exactly how irresistible she is. Love from Lydia comes fast and furious — expect a flurry of kisses before her puppy energy kicks in and she’s already bouncing off to her next adventure. She soaks up every pet and scritch she can get, though sitting still long enough to enjoy them is still a work in progress! The Playful Girl: Fetch is Lydia’s love language — throw the ball once and you’d better be ready to keep going, because she will bring it back every single time and stare you down until you throw it again. When she’s not playing fetch, she roams the house on a mission to bring you every object she can find — a sock, a stick, a toy from the corner — consider it her gift to you. She’s also discovered that launching toys down the stairs is endlessly entertaining, so expect the occasional thud followed by a very proud puppy face. After all that action, Himalayan bones are her go-to for winding those busy jaws down. The Character: Lydia is overflowing with personality and she wants the whole world to know it. Mornings kick off with a full-body wiggle that could power a small city. Feeding time turns into a spinning performance — standing still while waiting for her bowl is simply not in her vocabulary. Then there are the zoomies — one moment she’s the calmest, sweetest girl, and the next she’s a fur blur ricocheting around the room for absolutely no reason. She’s also vocal and will let you know immediately when someone’s at the door or when a mysterious noise requires investigation. Life with Lydia is never dull, and honestly, you wouldn’t have it any other way. A Day in Lydia’s Life: Lydia’s days are pretty wonderful, and she knows it. She starts each morning with a potty break and breakfast before spending a short stretch in her kennel while the kids head off to school — her least favorite part of the day, but she manages. Once she’s out, she has free roam of the house while her foster mom works from home, meaning she gets love and attention woven into every part of the day. She’s mostly an angel during this time… mostly. Every now and then a shoe or a stray item becomes too tempting to resist. Afternoons get even better with a lick pad and treats, and then the best moment arrives — her human siblings come home and it’s time for a walk! She’s comfortable and confident in her neighborhood, though new places and passing cars still make her a little nervous. She’s working on it! The evening winds down with dinner before bed, but not before Lydia makes her nightly attempt to sneak into her foster mom’s bed and pull off her most convincing “I’m a perfect angel” face. It never works — her foster mom knows better — but Lydia tries every single night without fail, and it’s impossible not to love her for it. The Smart Cookie: Don’t let the mischief fool you — Lydia is incredibly smart. She already knows sit, lay down, paw, beg, up, and roll over, which is impressive for a puppy still figuring out the world. She’s doing great with potty training too, heading outside when she needs to go, though she occasionally follows it up with a trip to the pee pad shortly after — she’s covering her bases! With consistency and patience, this girl is going to thrive. What Lydia Needs: Lydia would do best in a home that loves routine, stays active, and has people around to give her the attention she blossoms with. She needs someone who will match her energy, laugh at her antics, and keep working on her training with a gentle and consistent hand. In return, she’ll bring endless entertainment, unconditional love, and a whole lot of tummy-rub requests. Lydia is one of a kind — and the right family is going to be so lucky to have her! 🐾 ---- *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. *This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Hi, I’m Rosette—though my foster calls me Rosie—and I’m a beautiful senior girl with a soft heart to match. I’m sweet, gentle, quiet, and very easy to have around. I enjoy the company of my foster’s three senior beagles, but I also appreciate my own peaceful downtime when I need it. I’m a good little follower and happily tag along with the other dogs when it’s time to go potty, even in this cold weather. I haven’t shown much interest in toys yet, but I do know what I like when it comes to comfort. At night, I sleep on the bed with an open-door crate nearby, and I seem to prefer the cozy bed life. I’m still settling in and figuring out my routine. I came in eating canned food only, but my foster is transitioning me to kibble with chicken, which is going much better for me. My walking skills are still a bit of an unknown since I came from a handicapped household, but with patience and kindness, I’ll let you know what I’m comfortable with. I think I could be very happy as an only dog, soaking up love in a calm, quiet home—or with gentle senior companions like myself. If you’re looking for a peaceful, loving presence to share your days, I might just be your girl. Rosie is showing early signs of kidney disease, including increased urination and drinking, and will need to stay on a kidney prescription diet for support. An adoptive home where someone is home most of the time will be best to accommodate her need for extra bathroom breaks. Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and recommendations to keep your senior dog in top shape. Rosette (Rosie) is from an owner surrender.

Story
Prepare to fall head over heels for Chase n' Tails, an incredibly affectionate and loyal companion who blossoms with love! We don't know his past, but this "land seal" has a heart full of love and is ready to be your shadow and co-pilot in all of life's adventures. Chase is the ultimate "Netflix and chill" partner, happy to curl up in a blanket beside you, his cute little grunts a sweet soundtrack to your evening. He's also your best sous chef, delighting in trying new dog-safe foods like blueberries, cucumbers, apples, and carrots with his big, soulful eyes. This silly boy is full of "parkour" energy and his tail never stops wagging on walks. He thrives on routine, enjoying hearty meals from his slow feeder, followed by walks and long, satisfying naps. Mornings are his peak energy time, full of playful affection and sweet, spontaneous kisses. He's getting along great with our resident adult female dog and is enjoying having a canine friend! Chase dreams of a home where he can be at your side, whether running errands, exploring new places, or simply snuggling on the couch (or in bed!). While he'll happily sleep in his crate, his true joy is being cuddled up next to his favorite people. He does great in his crate while we leave the house, making him a fantastic companion for those who need to pop out for a bit. He loves to chase and chew balls or stuffed toys, even if fetching isn't his main game. He enjoys a good tug-of-war, and while he sometimes gets a little possessive with a toy, he'll readily give it up when asked. Chase is gaining more confidence and getting more independent in the home. He loves to follow us around but is also comfortable finding his own space and napping (his favorite spot is under the bed, we are always “losing” him!). This very go-with-the-flow type of dude is always ready to do what you are doing; whether that’s getting outside for a long relaxing nature walk or binging America's Next Top Model on a gloomy weekend! And for a special nightly treat, he loves to hear “Baby Beluga” as a lullaby before bed each night – it's the perfect way to send him off to dreamland. Chase n' Tails is looking for a home with adults or other dogs (no cats, please!). He's a dog who feels like he's been waiting his whole life to give and receive the deepest love. If you're ready for a devoted, joyful companion who will melt into you with excitement, then Chase n' Tails is your perfect match!

Story
*This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Fanny, whose foster parents are calling her Annie, is a sweet older girl with a calm, gentle, and even-tempered personality. With her low energy level and love of companionship, she’s perfect for someone looking for a relaxed sidekick. Although she lives peacefully with other small dogs in her foster home, she would be fine as the only dog in the home because she enjoys human companionship. Annie enjoys snuggling up next to you on the couch and likes to follow you around to make sure she’s not missing anything! Annie is a happy girl whose tail is always wagging. Annie is leash trained and enjoys taking walks, and she has started showing some interest in exploring toys and tennis balls. She is potty trained and does her business quickly when outside, and she is also trained to use potty pads inside! Annie is generally quiet, but she will bark when first put into her crate when left home alone. She sleeps quietly through the night in her crate. Annie was found as a stray just before a recent freeze in Texas. Someone had posted asking for help, and thankfully she was rescued in time. She was very underweight when found, and after a vet visit it was discovered she needed to begin heart medication, her foster can tell you more about her heart condition. Since starting her medication, Annie has done has been gaining weight, feeling stronger, and shows no symptoms of her heart condition. She will continue to need heart medication for the remainder of her life. She has a great appetite, and her foster parents are working on putting a few more pounds on her. Annie also has some hearing loss. Annie is sweet gentle older girl who just wants and deserves a safe loving home where she can relax and be cared for. She has been through a lot, and now she’s ready for a stable forever family who will continue giving her the love and medical care she needs. Annie would make a wonderful low-key companion for someone who appreciates a loyal little shadow by their side! She would love a home without young children and where her people are home most of the time. Because of her barking when first left alone, she would not be a candidate for an apartment with shared walls. Even though Annie will require some ongoing heart medication, don’t let that deter you from filling out an application because she still has so much love to give and life to live. —— These special animals are looking for loving homes and dedicated supporters to help them thrive. Whether they have a chronic condition, require ongoing treatment, or need extra attention to stay comfortable, they are just as full of love as any other pet. You can make a difference by adopting one of these amazing animals or setting up a recurring donation to ensure they receive the medical care they need. Every contribution helps give them the second chance they deserve!
